Lesson Rates/
In European countries with strong traditions of classical music and teaching only the best teachers/performers are allowed to teach beginners, it's that important. This is beyond University level instruction.
Rates $30 for 30 minutes online or $40 in person. This is appropriate for beginners in their first couple of years. Students taking exams should have an hour to cover all the material.
Adults and very advanced students: in person lessons are $80/hour (which is what I paid for an hour lesson in 1988! ) Participants in Alban Classical ensembles get a lower rate of 60/hour.
10% discount for a full year sign up (9 months)
Group lessons are $100//hour divided by the number of students.
Student who study regularly with me every year have locked in rates.
Attendance and Missed Lessons
Students are expected to attend their lessons regularly, on a weekly basis. If a student gives notification of the inability to attend a lesson we regret that there will be no refund or a reduction of fees.
You have paid to reserve a time. That means I can't teach any other student during that time. I have very limited teaching times.
In the event of an unavoidable absence by the student, such as accident or illness a minimum of 24 hours notice must be given to the teacher, of the student’s inability to attend a lesson in order for a makeup lesson to be considered.
If a lesson is cancelled by the teacher, it will be made up at a mutually convenient time for the student and the teacher.
