ImageThis is a Selmer series 10S clarinet and a Selmer recital  they are beautiful clarinets in great condition.
 The A in particular does not play as one would expect however, response tuning and tone are poor.
 These are usually very good clarinets. A quick check reveals that the pads do not cover, they are skin pads which have warped over time.

I am going to repad the top joint with cork pads on all keys which are usually in the closed position.
 The other 2 keys will have traditional skin pads.

Nobel Flute flutes at coles woodwinds #11230 high quality student flute, silver plated throughout, closed holes (plateaux), offset G key, C footjoint. This flute is a best seller within the Nobel catalogue. It outperforms many brands of flutes in this category. $465.

#11235 student flute for children, same as #11230, but with straight and curved headjoints. A must for all flutists under the age of 12. The curved headjoint allows for a tension-free posture and thus more fun than pain. $599

Simon plays the #11234 advanced C flute with open holes (French), silver plated body & keys, handcut .016 sterling silver headjoint with overcuts and undercuts, elegant ornate crown, inline or offset G key, B footjoint, G disc, French pointed arms, superior quality Pisoni pads, regulated spring tension, leather French case, black nylon case cover (plush lined) with shoulder strap. Nobel's pride. This is an intermediate flute with a much advanced level of performance. The sound of the Nobel Mistral flute cannot be compared: it is rich, colourful, powerful in all registers, yet capable of great refinement. Every clarinet is set up and play tested before sale, most stores do not do this. This clarinet has had some undercutting of higher tone holes and resetting of pad heights done for better pitch and tone.

The material, reverse taper barrel and design give this clarinet a more mature rich sound when compared to standard student clarinets costing hundreds more. I have played one in the orchestra for outdoor concerts.
