Grace Waddell Clarinet Print E-mail

Grace is a student of PGSO principal clarinetist Simon Cole. She started Kodaly music at 3 with Erica Skowron went on to study recorder (which she still plays and studies) and then progressed to clarinet. Grace began performing as second clarinet with the PGSO when only 11 and is now is a regular second clarinetist with the orchestra.


grace.jpgShe played for the 2004 CBC radio broadcast of the Dvorak serenade and will be performing with the PGSO again this year. In 2003 she was awarded best Junior woodwind in BC at the Provincial Festival
.In 2004  she went to the Nationals, competing against University graduates. She was a runner up at this years Provincial music festival. She is a winner of the PGSO concerto competition and performed  Danzi's 2nd Concertpiece with the orchestra.

A world premiere of One Song Universus by Prince George composer Simon Cole with soloist Marion Newman. Also, Beethoven’s Symphony No. bnw_swirl9 in D Minor, Op. 125 in conjunction with choirs from across northern B.C.
