Open to all intermediate and advanced musicians on any orchestral instrument, piano or voice.
This is the single most important quality that any musician can have, Musicianship. What is it? Musicianship encompasses Every aspect of performance; Building an Interpretation based on historical knowledge of the composer, time period and performance styles and theoretical analysis of the music. It includes the psychology of music performance , how to work in a group. dealing with tuning tendencies and different tuning systems, use of rubato and 100's of other areas. Musicianship is about breathing life into the music. {mosgoogle} Musicianship is what makes the difference between just being another player that can get the notes and being a musician. All my students get some of this in their lessons that's why they do so well. This course deals only with performance issues, unlike regular lessons, technical issues with the instrument are not addressed. In my own playing the coaching and music tips I received from great musicians were just as valuable as the practical "how to play the clarinet" information I received from my clarinet teachers. I coach both professional musicians and advanced students. |
