Repair rates student instruments

pro approx.30% more. These are average rates for fairly new instruments 1-5 years old . Vintage instruments may require more work. Shop rate is 80/hour. These rates are not quotes, they are just to give you a rough idea. No quote is final unless I have examined the instrument. I can always work within your budget.

Cost of changing pads on keys not linked to other keys has been reduced. Typically the palm key pads and the low D#  and F#  and G# pads are the first to go.

Polishing includes cleaning the keys (brushing and ultrasonic cleaner) then chemical dip (various types depending on metal) buffing and or hand polishing depending on metal. For silver we use a non toxic process which replaces silver.

Repad Saxophone is completely disassembled and cleaned, body work is done. Pad cups and keys are leveled and end to end and side to side play of keys is removed. Tone holes are leveled if needed and dressed Any needed corks felts and springs are replaced.

Parts are extra.

Overhaul-changes all pads corks and felts and includes polishing.

Not withstanding any of the above the final quote for a job can only be given once I have had a good look at the instrument.

In general the more service you buy, the lower the rate.

We do not do lacquering for health and environmental reasons. Limited silver plating is available. We do not use dangerous chemicals for cleaning.
